For their second year, SnowGlobe will feature prominent names like Deadmau5(unhooked), Wiz Khalifa, Chromeo, Madeon, Gramatik, Polica, among others. Even as you read down into the tinier names on the roster (which most people choose to ignore), I was amazed to see phenomenal musicians like Plump DJs, Nobody Beats The Drum, Up Until Now, Archnemesis, Chris Lake, Cold Blank and many more.
Deadmau5 will be bringing his “unhooked” show. Because he mostly plays only his own songs throughout his sets, he now delivers what he calls a “freestyle set.” He plays some of favorite songs, remixes, bootlegs and mashups, stuff you probably won’t ever hear again and may leave you wondering where in the world he found these sounds. It is a completely different way to see the Mau5 in action.
Another main feature this year is Quixotic Fusions. Started by Anthony Magliano of Kansas City, Mo., they describe themselves as an, “aerial acrobatics, dance, fashion, film, music and f-x,” performance. They claim to not belong to a single medium, but instead they push the boundaries of traditional art forms and bring you a Cirque-Du-Soleil-like performance to visually entice your senses even more.
On top of all of this, there is a plethora of after-parties to keep the music and party going well into the morning. There are two different after-parties on the 29 and the 30 and one after-party on the 31, all at the same address. Prices range depending on what party you want to go to or if you want to pay in advance or at the door, but they’re reasonable. In my opinion, don’t miss out on the Chromeo after-party on the 31. Click HERE to view all of the after-parties.
Combined with the mountains, the atmosphere and the musical selection, this is one festival that stands out from the rest. They know how to grab the artists that will generate the most attention and the venue that is undeniably better than most, leaving those who can’t attend in a state of serious jealousy. General Admission tickets are only $155 right now without the shuttle pass, $180 with the pass.
