Electric Swamp premieres next Tuesday with Bitch Please and DJ Ruby. Come out to Spannk from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. Ladies are free all night. Sorry guys, it’s $5 before 12 a.m. and $10 afterwards. Not only will there be killer music of all types, but drinks specials are will be insane.
“The idea of Bitch Please is simple: Stunner shades, champaign flowing, fur coats and surprise remixes and vocal samples that bring back memories of drinking boxed wine in your car and getting hype to the new Master P track blasting on the radio.”
Heavily influenced by the hip-hop and rap scene in Atlanta, Bitch Please mixes deep, glitchy beats with hip-hop lyrics. Throwing in some electro and dubstep every now and then, Charles Moreland III has played alongside many big names including Ooah, Pretty Lights, Shpongle, Flying Lotus and STS9. It’s a different change of pace but definitely in a good way. Don’t miss out on the beginning of something great with Organic Vision Presents and Dope Entertainment. Hope to see you there!

What’s a better way to kick off your fall semester with none other than the great Porter Robinson? Nothing. Because of flight delays due to the weather, Robinson was not able to make last spring’s show, leaving everyone in Gainesville with a ticket to an event with no date.Well, now is the time to find those tickets!
Thrown by The Dynasty Group, Porter Robinson will be stopping in the Swamp on August 26th, the first Friday of fall semester. He has an EP coming out on September 13th, and his set will most likely include some new music.
If you haven’t heard of Porter Robinson, he hit the music scene with a bang at the age of 18. With legendary support from world renowned electronic music artists, Robinson launched his career globally and has been admired ever since.
His style is unique and recognizable to his name. Not only has he topped the music charts on Beatport and iTunes, but he has maintained his reputation by creating mature music for his age. This is one event that is the best way to start your school year. Don’t miss out!
The north of Florida has been known for it’s southern style, small no-name towns and universities. A couple of years ago, you couldn’t pay Tiesto, Steve Aoki, or any other big names a million dollars to play a show in a middle-of-nowhere college town. However, that has recently changed. The music business realized that most of their fans reside in college towns, hence bringing more acts to smaller towns plagued with college students.
The newest weekly electronic event that has been added to Gainesville’s list is Electric Swamp. Happening every Tuesday night at Spannk in downtown, this event is being provided by Organic Vision Presents, Dope Entertainment, Neon Liger and Charles Bilsker. You should expect an intimate environment that allows one to escape the ordinary. DJ Hart is one of two openers that will be apart of this event. For all you bassheads, this DJ has an exceptional talent with the art of dubstep.
For their first show, Electric Swamp has snagged the very talented Martyparty. From South Africa, this guy does not play around. He is motivated to bring his crowd on a emotional musical experience with him while creating a huge dance party at the same time. Martyparty is also apart of PANTyRAiD with Ooah from The Glitch Mob. Along with that, he also just teamed up with Minnesota and formed the group Deathstar. The music that is created by Martyparty, whether it be with PANTyRAiD, Deathstar or solo work, always is something refreshing and new. With Electric Swamp bringing in an innovator of dubstep for their very first show, it leaves us wondering what else they have in store for the rest of the year. Come find out!
